We're often asked how The Poem Pros started, and why
Founded from a desire to send heartfelt words into the world, The Poem Pros has become a grand experiment: to put poetry and love directly onto paper, and share it with the world.
In May 2017, Alixander Court sat at The Urban Flea Market with an Echelon 77 Tabulator and typed a first message for the Salt Lake City crowd. That was the birth of The Poem Pros. Not long after, someone asked for one by mail, and the idea stuck: people could “pay it forward,” and have their own typewritten words delivered to someone else.
Since then, hundreds of messages have been mailed, and The Poem Pros have been invited to events of all kinds. Eventually people asked for a website, so they could send their heartfelt words from anywhere.
